Anna Lise De Lorenzo

Founder & CEO
MakerSpace &company

Anna Lise launched the rebranded MakerSpace &company in October 2015, bringing to life a place that enables designers and the local community to make their ideas, learn skills and build businesses. Anna Lise founded the precursor, &company, in 2009 where she curated, produced and managed 10 exhibition projects, 3 pop-up shops, 9 product launches with graduate designers and 8 events for major cultural festivals.

Anna Lise has a Bachelor of Design (hons) from UNSW Art & Design (formerly COFA) and holds a Certificate IV in Small Business Management. A 6 month exchange to Milan Polytechnic (2006) exposed her to social sustainability models and the positive impact of design on community. She won the competitive British Council Realise Your Dream Award in 2014 and visited maker-spaces in the UK. Anna Lise was selected to present her work at the 2014 Milan Design Week.  In 2013, she was a finalist in the Audi Instyle Emerging Women Entrepreneurs award.

Flexing her interest in business and startup culture, Anna Lise worked at ATP Innovations business incubator (2013-2015) managing the Ignition Labs Accelerator Program and community engagement strategy. She has been a casual lecturer at UTS and UNSW for the last 8 years and she was named a “Designpreneur Major Influencer” by Design Quarterly.
